In 1879, amateurs from Slánské presented a proposal to build their own theatre building. The winning project was submitted by Jindřich Fialka. The builder was František Štech, and on 24 June 1882 the foundation stone of the new building was laid, which was officially opened on 30 December 1883, 42 days after the National Theatre. The first play was a performance of Kolár's historical drama "The Mayor".

On the site of the original Romanesque basilica, the deanery church of St. Gothard was expanded in the Gothic style.
At this time, the present three-nave was partially vaulted on older foundations, and the presbytery and sacristy were built. The presbytery is vaulted with a reticulated vault, decorated at the beginning of the 16th century with paintings of Christ blessing and the evangelists. On this occasion, the head of Christ was placed on the vault stud in the presbytery.
The original Renaissance baptistery from 1511 is worth the attention of visitors. The original late Gothic wooden roof has also been preserved, as well as a late Gothic door from the early 16th century in the western portal.
Piarist College No. 159 - Count Bernard Ignác Bořita of Martinice founded the Piarist College in 1658 and it was completed in 1665. The Piarist College served students until 1939. Then the grammar school moved to a new building on Smetana Square. The building includes the former college chapel of the Betrothal of the Virgin Mary.
The building underwent a complete reconstruction in 1997. Today, the building houses the Museum of Local History, the Václav Štech Library, and the city cinema.
In Prague 1 - Old Town, one of the most important and best-known monuments of the capital of the Czech Republic, the Old Town Hall, stands on the Old Town Square. The town hall was established as early as 1338 and served as the seat of the Old Town government, the nearly 70-meter-high Gothic tower with a bay window chapel is its oldest part.
The dominant feature of the tower is the unique clock, on which 12 apostles move every hour from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. For hundreds of years, the astronomical clock has shown not only the time and date, but also the position of the Sun, the phases of the Moon, astronomical cycles and holidays of the Christian calendar.
Petrín Tower, one of Prague's inseparable landmarks, was built as part of the Jubilee Exhibition in 1891 as a loose copy of the Eiffel Tower in Paris (to which it is in a ratio of 1:5), it is 58.70 m high and at its top, which is at the as high as the real Eiffel Tower, there are 299 steps. The view from it shows not only the whole of Prague, but also a view of almost the whole of Bohemia in clear weather.
Visitors to the museum will be treated to an exhibition that introduces them to the history of the gendarmerie and the police on Czech territory in the years 1850–1938, during and after the Second World War. There are also sections focused on criminology, border protection or anti-drug issues. Uniforms, weapons and equipment can be seen, as well as eight hundred photographs. In the outdoor part of the exhibition, interested parties can view large equipment, including, for example, the Mi-2 helicopter.
The room manager prepares you for the adventure that awaits you on the Titanic. He won't reveal much, you'll have to figure it all out yourself. Then your 60 minutes of exploring, searching, guessing, decoding and unlocking vital locks begins. Help will be prepared for the clueless, don't be afraid to ask about it. The tension will rise and you will - hopefully - get off the ship in time. We're keeping our fingers crossed for you, the water is said to be very icy there!
The 11 ha city park, known as Smetanovy sady during the Second World War, was created more than 100 years ago by merging plots of land, often vineyards, and includes, for example, the wonderful Kanálka garden. From it, for example, Mlíkarna, a late-classical lookout tower with a lookout, which now houses a nice cafe, or a sandstone obelisk with bird reliefs, were transferred to today's orchards, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful Vinohrady parks. The park opens up wonderful views of Prague: you can see Hradčany or Petřínská rozhledna, Prague Castle or the Main Railway Station.
